IPA President Hugo Setzer, spoke for an hour with previous Presidents, Ana María Cabanellas and Pere Vicens, previous member of the Executive Committee, Daniel Fernández, and current EC member, Patrici Tixis.

Pere spoke about how the IPA worked to convince UNESCO to create the World Book Capital City program, as well as the enormous changes that publishers have instigated in the last 30 years — from lead to digital. Dani spoke eloquently about the critical importance of copyright for the book value chain, stressing that so much of global culture is based on books and the threat posed to that culture from the Tech Giants. And Patrici emphasized the key position that the IPA occupies in the debates happening at the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva.
