IPA Vice President, Karine Pansa, Secretary General, José Borghino and Director of Communications and Freedom to Publish, James Taylor travelled to Jakarta in May on the occasion of National Book Day in Indonesia and used the occasion to visit the sites of the 33rd International Publishers Congress, to be held at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, from 10-12 November 2022 and including the ceremony for the 2022 IPA Prix Voltaire.

The IPA delegation was warmly welcomed by the Congress organizing committee and the Jakarta regional government officials and was able to participate in a press conference marking the National Book Day as well as a local podcast.

Tickets for this 33rd Congress will be free, covering two full days of programming with delegates only needing to cover travel and accommodation. Discounted accommodation and local transfer packages will also be announced soon.

IPA was able to conduct this visit thanks to our global transport partner, Emirates.
