Panel at Chennai International Book Fair

Running alongside the 46th Chennai Book Fair, the organisers report that the new international fair drew representatives from 30 countries. Alongside Jobava on the session Making CIBF a truly global event was IPA Executive Committee member Mr. Pranav Gupta (Federation of Indian Publishers) as well as Ms. Judith Rosenzweig (Foreign Rights Director, Éditions Gallimard), Mr. Robert Morgan (BookLand Press, Canada), Mr. Hasri Bin Hasan (CEO, Bookonomics Asia, Malaysia), and Mr. Prashant Pathak (Publishers Without Borders).

Speaking about her experience at the fair, IPA Vice President Gvantsa Jobava said: It was a very impressive start to the international side of the fair and I’m very happy that I was a part of such a special 46th edition of CIBF. I congratulate the fair organizers and promise my support in their future endeavours. IPA is happy to be everywhere all around the globe, where publishers, various book markets need our support and expertise in their continuous development process, in strengthening the core values of the publishing industry. Chennai book fair seems to be standing upon a sure ground where a lot can be built on during upcoming years. I hope that the organizers will keep working hard on creating important publishing spot in southernmost India, which will attract more and more foreign publishers annually,” said Ms. Gvantsa Jobava, Vice President, International Publishers Association and Head of the International Affairs, Intelekti Publishing, Georgia.
