Following last year’s successful first edition, IPA is again partnering with London Book Fair to shine a light on Freedom to Publish challenges around the world. With freedom to publish under greater threat in many countries, it is not to be missed.

Under the banner Paying the Price: Is Truth to be Trusted, or Just an Outdated Trend? leading influencers will discuss the crucial role publishers play in the curation of fact and fiction with the seminar being opened by IPA President, Hugo Setzer.

Angela Gui will talk about her father, last year’s Prix Voltaire recipient, Gui Minhai, currently in detention in China.

Claire Armitstead, Associate Editor for Culture at The Guardian will then lead a panel discussion with Nick Tyrone of Radix and Jodie Ginsberg of Index on Censorship.

More information on the seminar can be found on London Book Fair’s website here. If you haven’t got your ticket for London Book Fair yet, you can do so here.

Following successful events at Book Fair’s including London, Leipzig, Oslo, Göteborg, Frankfurt, Sharjah and Guadalajara in 2018, IPA is looking at developing its events in this area further.
