In his first interview since taking over as CEO of STM, Ian Moss talks to IPA Past President, Michiel Kolman about how STM publishers work, the vital role they play in ensuring verified science is published as the version of record, and how their work to make research easily findable and usable was vital as the COVID-19 Pandemic started. Ian points out how STM publishers reacted quickly to make relevant research freely available and how it is copyright that enables them to do that. The conversation also looks at the open access movement as well as freedom to publish and academic freedom.
