The final reading list for the UN Sustainable Development Goals Book Club was announced on 27 October 2022. The books, which are in all six official UN languages, cover SDG 17 – partnerships for the goals.
A crucial part of IPA's mission is to inform member associations and the wider global publishing community about breaking developments which will impact publishers. We do this through a number of channels. the IPA website, our monthly e-newsletter, press releases and the IPA's dedicated social media feeds.
Preliminary data collected from the World Intellectual Property Organization's global survey of publishing activity shows that economic recovery in 2021 extended to the publishing industry: most countries reported higher revenue in 2021, following declines in the first year of the pandemic in 2020.
On Monday 17 October, the Swedish Publishers Association marked seven years since Swedish publisher, and 2018 IPA Prix Voltaire laureate, Gui Minhai disappeared from his holiday home in Thailand with a social media campaign for publishers in peril #fansladerförläggare.
IPA President Bodour Al Qasimi joined representatives from former, current and future World Book Capital Cities in Wrocław, Poland, to sign the World Book Capitals Network Charter.
