IPA Executive Committee members Ana María Cabanellas and Hugo Setzer and IPA Policy Director José Borghino attended the latest meeting of the Grupo Iberoamericano de editores (GIE) on 2 December, during the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
A crucial part of IPA's mission is to inform member associations and the wider global publishing community about breaking developments which will impact publishers. We do this through a number of channels. the IPA website, our monthly e-newsletter, press releases and the IPA's dedicated social media feeds.
On 2nd December, Turkey's government introduced a law bringing VAT on e-books into line with print.
IPA participated in and jointly funded a November 14-15 conference in Lima, Peru entitled "Enhancing the Culture of Reading and Books in the Digital Age: Copyright as a means to foster creativity and access".
The IPA Freedom to Publish Prize is awarded every 2 years for exemplary courage in upholding freedom of expression and freedom to publish.
