The Geneva-based International Publishers Association (IPA) today launches its call for nominations for the 2023 IPA Prix Voltaire for exemplary courage in upholding the Freedom to Publish and enabling others to exercise their freedom of expression.
At the beginning of July, IPA representatives — including IPA President, Bodour Al Qasimi, Chair of the Educational Publishers Forum, Stephan de Valk, and Secretary General José Borghino — participated in a series of events scheduled in and around the 26th São Paulo Book Fair or ‘Bienal’.

The International Publishers Association General Assembly on Monday 23 November was marked by the results of the association’s elections but also featured the publication of a COVID-19 stocktaking report and guest speeches from United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres and Booker-shortlisted author, Tsitsi Dangarembga.
Bodour Al Qasimi (Kalimat Group, UAE) confirmed as President-elect of the IPA, with Karine Pansa (Girassol Brasil Edições, Brazil) confirmed as Vice President-elect at first ever virtual IPA General Assembly.
